Turnkey digital museum design

Culenz delivers digital museums and experience centres under one contract: feasibility, research, exhibit design, build, installation and maintenance. Interactive exhibits, projection mapping and holograms tell the story.

01 — Overview

Inside a turnkey digital museum

A turnkey digital museum covers every stage under one contract: feasibility, research, exhibit design, build, installation and maintenance.

One team owns the whole project. That avoids gaps between designers, builders and AV contractors.

Culenz delivers digital museums and experience centres for government bodies, institutions and brands in India and Dubai.

What you get

  • Story first

We start from what visitors should learn and feel, then choose the technology for each gallery.

  • Interactive exhibits

Touch tables, AR, VR stations, holograms and projection mapping, planned gallery by gallery.

  • Built for daily use

Show control starts and stops every exhibit on a schedule, so staff need no technical skills.

An annual maintenance contract keeps exhibits running and content current.

03 — Key features

Turnkey digital museums in depth

  1. 01

    Story first, technology second

We start from what visitors should learn and feel. Then we choose the technology that tells each part of the story best.

Some galleries suit projection mapping, others suit VR, holograms or touch tables. The story decides, not the technology.

  2. 02

    Virtual tours and VR galleries

VR galleries let visitors step inside history, from ancient cities to space missions. Virtual tours extend the museum online.

People who can't visit can still explore the collection. That widens the museum's audience far beyond its walls.

  3. 03

    Interactive exhibits

Touch tables, AR, holograms and motion-sensing exhibits let visitors explore at their own pace. Each exhibit is planned gallery by gallery.

Interactive exhibits suit families and school groups. They keep visitors engaged for longer.

  4. 04

    Built for daily operation

Show control starts and stops every exhibit on a schedule. Staff need no technical skills to open and close the museum.

Equipment is chosen for long daily use. Spare parts and remote monitoring reduce downtime.

  5. 05

    Research and 3D capture

Artefacts, monuments and sites are captured with laser scanning and photogrammetry. That gives accurate content for every gallery.

Researchers and curators review content for accuracy. Every story is checked before it goes on display.

  6. 06

    After opening

An annual maintenance contract keeps exhibits running and content current. Preventive visits catch problems early.

Content can be refreshed on a schedule, giving repeat visitors something new.

  7. 07

Experience centres for brands and companies

Companies use experience centres to tell their history, show products and host visitors. The same technology as a museum applies.

An experience centre at headquarters or a factory turns visits into memorable tours for clients, partners and staff.

  8. 08

Museums for government and heritage bodies

State and city bodies commission museums about local history, culture and achievements. These often need a DPR and a tender first.

Culenz can prepare the DPR, support the tender and deliver the museum. One team keeps the story consistent from plan to opening.

04 — Our process

From DPR to final AMC visit

Every project starts with a free scoping call to agree goals, audience, venue, devices and dates. You then receive a written scope with dated milestones.

We gather your files, build a first draft and review it with you, in the headset or on site. Final content, testing and installation follow.

After launch, our crew runs the experience or hands it over with training. An annual maintenance contract can cover support, repairs and updates.

  1. 01

    IPR / DPR and feasibility

Visitor numbers, story, budget and a procurement-ready detailed project report.

  2. 02

    3D scanning and research

LiDAR and photogrammetry capture of artefacts, monuments and sites.

  3. 03

    Exhibit design and storyboard

Zoning, visitor flow, scripts and interactions, signed off gallery by gallery.

  4. 04

    Build

Motion theatres, projection mapping, holograms and touch exhibits built and tested.

  5. 05

    Install and commission

On-site AV, show control, safety checks and staff training.

  6. 06

    AMC and operations

Preventive maintenance, content refreshes and uptime reporting.

05 — Planning your project

Budget and the right partner

Pricing

Digital museum pricing factors

Cost depends mainly on how much content is custom, the hardware involved and how long the experience runs. On-site crew and travel add to event projects.

Reusing your existing CAD, BIM, footage or brand assets lowers cost. Building from photos or 2D drawings takes more modelling time.

We send an itemised quote after the scoping call. Content, hardware, crew and support are listed separately, so you see what each part costs.

Checklist

Choosing your digital museum partner

  • Ask to see work the team has delivered, and who will actually build yours. Check that the same people stay on your project from scope to launch.
  • Ask how they test on the real device or venue, and what happens if something fails on the day. A clear answer shows real delivery experience.
  • Finally, ask for an itemised quote and a dated schedule. Vague estimates usually lead to surprises later in the project.

07 — FAQs

Questions buyers often ask

How long does a digital museum take to build?

Timelines depend on the number of galleries, the research needed and the procurement steps. Feasibility and the detailed project report come first, then design and build. Culenz gives a dated schedule once the DPR fixes the scope.

Who commissions digital museums?

State tourism and culture departments, city authorities, heritage trusts, universities, companies and brands. Each needs a space that tells its story to local and visiting audiences in a memorable, interactive way.

Can a digital museum be built in an existing building?

Yes. Many digital museums are built inside heritage buildings, offices or converted halls. We survey the space first and design exhibits around its size, power supply, structure and any heritage rules.

How do you keep a digital museum working for years?

We choose durable equipment, design for easy maintenance and offer an annual maintenance contract. Preventive visits, spare parts and remote monitoring keep downtime low and visitors happy throughout the year.
