VR experiences for automotive and EV

Culenz builds VR ride experiences, configurators and technician training for automotive and EV brands. Our work includes a VR ride for BMW Motorrad and an experience for Audi India.

01 — Overview

XR for automotive brands

Test rides need vehicles, licences, insurance and good weather. Showrooms can't display every colour, trim and model.

VR rides, configurators and holograms remove those limits. Visitors experience the vehicle wherever they are.

Our work includes a VR ride experience for BMW Motorrad and a VR experience for Audi India.

03 — Key features

Automotive and EV XR in depth

  1. 01

    VR test rides

Visitors ride the bike or drive the car in VR, on a route designed around the brand. No vehicle, licence or weather is needed.

Short three-to-five-minute rides fit busy events. Lead capture at the station turns interest into follow-up.

  2. 02

    Virtual showrooms and configurators

Customers change colours, trims and options on a life-size virtual vehicle. They see every combination without stock on the floor.

Configurators can run in the showroom, at events or in a browser.

  3. 03

    Launch moments

Holograms and projection mapping create memorable reveals at launches and dealer events. 360° live streams bring the launch to remote audiences.

One team plans the reveal, the content and the stream together.

  4. 04

    EV technician training

Technicians practise high-voltage safety, battery isolation and repair steps in VR. No live voltage is involved.

New models can be added to training before they reach dealer workshops.

  5. 05

    Assembly line training

Line workers learn assembly sequences in VR before the first vehicle reaches the line. Each step is checked for order and accuracy.

Training continues as new variants launch.

  6. 06

    Dealer network rollout

VR experiences and configurators can be rolled out to many dealers at once. Content updates reach every location together.

Usage data shows which dealers use the tools most and where support is needed.

  7. 07

    Measuring activations

Capture leads at each VR station and track test-ride bookings afterwards. That shows the activation's effect on real sales.

Session counts and dwell times show how many people the experience reached.

  8. 08

    Sales staff training

Dealer sales staff learn new models in VR before launch day, including features, options and key messages. They arrive at the launch confident and consistent.

Training updates reach every dealer at once when a new variant arrives.

  9. 09

Choosing between VR, AR, holograms and 360°

Virtual reality suits deep, one-person experiences, such as a walkthrough or a training drill. Augmented reality suits phones and real spaces.

Holograms and projection reach crowds with no headset. A 360° live stream reaches people who can't attend in person.

On the scoping call, we recommend one format and explain the trade-offs. If a simpler option works better, we say so.

  10. 10

    Measuring results in automotive

Agree what success means before the project starts, such as bookings, training scores, visitor numbers or time saved. Then measure the same figure before and after.

Our experiences can log sessions, scores, leads and usage. That data sits alongside your own business figures.

A short review after launch compares results with the goal. It also shows what to change in the next phase.

  11. 11

    Languages, accessibility and comfort

Voice-over and on-screen text can be produced in English, Hindi, Arabic or the other languages your audience uses. We agree the languages at scoping.

Experiences are designed for first-time users, with clear prompts and seated options where needed. We test comfort with real users before launch.

Holograms, projection and screen versions serve people who can't or prefer not to wear a headset.

  12. 12

    Hardware, support and maintenance

Culenz can supply headsets, hologram boxes, screens, cameras and simulator stations, tested together before delivery. You can also use suitable hardware you already own.

Annual maintenance contracts cover preventive visits, repairs, spares and content updates. Response times are written into the contract.

04 — Our process

Working with automotive teams

Every project starts with a free scoping call about your goal, audience, sites and timeline. You then receive a written scope with dated milestones and fixed deliverables.

You review the work in the headset or on site at each stage. Changes are made early, when they cost the least.

After launch, our crew runs the experience or hands it over with training. An annual maintenance contract keeps it running.

  1. 01

    Scope

We agree goals, audience, venue, devices and dated milestones, and you sign off the scope.

  2. 02

    Capture and storyboard

We gather plans, photos or scans and build a draft for you to review in the headset or on screen.

  3. 03

    Build

Final models, content and interactions are added and tested on the target device.

  4. 04

    Integrate and rehearse

Hardware is wired in, and the experience is rehearsed at the venue or a mock-up.

  5. 05

    Run and support

Our crew runs it or hands it over, followed by a review and a maintenance plan.

05 — Planning your project

Choosing the right partner

Checklist

Planning checklist for automotive projects

  • What decision or behaviour should the experience change, and how will you measure it? A clear answer keeps the project focused.
  • Who will use it, where, and on which devices? Who on your side will review content and sign off each stage?
  • Finally, who will run and maintain it after launch? Planning that early avoids an experience that stops working after a few months.

07 — FAQs

Questions buyers often ask

What makes an automotive VR activation work?

It needs a short ride or reveal that fits a three-to-five-minute slot, plus a supervised area for safety. Give visitors a clear next step, such as booking a test ride. Capture leads at the station, so you can measure the activation's effect.

How long should an automotive VR ride last?

Most event rides last three to five minutes, which keeps queues moving and leaves visitors wanting more. Showroom experiences can run longer, because visitors have more time and a sales consultant is on hand.

Can VR configurators use our CAD data?

Yes. We optimise vehicle CAD data for real time while keeping details buyers notice, such as paint, trim and wheels. Colours, trims and options follow your official configuration data, so customers never see a combination you don't sell.

Does Culenz train EV service technicians?

Yes. Our EV assembly and repair simulator covers high-voltage safety, battery isolation and repair procedures. It can be built from your vehicle data and procedures, so technicians learn your actual models.
