Culenz made the Republic Day parade available live in VR 360° — the first time the Rajpath parade was streamed in immersive virtual reality — so viewers anywhere could feel present on the ground, from the welcome of guests to the air show.

The challenge

The Republic Day parade is one of the most watched national events in India, but television gives every viewer the same fixed frame. The brief was to let people feel present on Rajpath, not just watch it.

What we did

Captured the parade in 360° along its route, from the guest welcome to the fly-past
Delivered a live VR 360° stream viewers could explore on phones and headsets
Worked within the operational and security constraints of a national event

The outcome

The parade was experienced live in VR 360° for the first time, in collaboration with the Government of India — a landmark in immersive coverage of national events.
